Our Story
Founded by Tena Patterson and her daughters, Tasha Shirley and Tara Patterson, Wings to Fly creates inclusive, therapeutic, and artistic movement experiences for people of all abilities. With more than 50 years of combined experience in dance, physical and massage therapy, yoga, water therapy, Asian sacred arts, and sound practices, we proudly serve artists and families throughout the Treasure Coast.
Tara Patterson
Executive Director
Driven and highly creative, Tara draws inspiration for the numerous pieces she
has created and choreographed from her life of serving others in the capacity of
physical therapy and dance.
Tasha Patterson Shirley
Artistic Director
Tasha loves connecting her dance and entertainment world with her spiritual path; while holding the intention that together, we can ‘Heal’ the world.
Tena Patterson
Founding Director
At 80 years of age, Tena still finds herself dancing, directing, volunteering with the Arc, choreographing, body surfing at the beach, and working as a massage and aquatic therapist. “Age is just a number.”

Robyn Baron
Robyn brings decades of national sales and business leadership to our team, and now calls the Treasure Coast home as part of the incredible team at Nicklaus Vance Realty. A proud supporter of the Boys & Girls Club, Robyn has a heart for community, for children, and for making a difference right where she lives.
When she's not closing deals or giving back, you'll find her on horseback or on the Pilates mat.
Jan Robson
Wings to Fly Dance Company is honored to welcome Jan to our Board of Directors, bringing decades of professional leadership, a lifelong passion for the arts, and a heart deeply rooted in community. Jan has served on the Board of the Florida Arts & Dance Company, led her community through countless volunteer roles, and currently shares her voice with the Treasure Coast Community Singers. She is creative, dedicated, and exactly the kind of person who makes everything around her better.
